The Currency of Feeling

It'd been hard to realize
When all had been eventide
that I wasn't even in range
Of what you were putting out there to feel.

It seemed a challenge to grasp at something real
When I was barred from that land
That space where what you felt had meaning,
Where what you felt had currency.

I mean, it was just hard to pick up on
All those alphanumerics of feeling;
When most of what you said was fleeting
And part of you felt was scarcely seen.

Rearrangement To The Currency of Feeling

It seemed a challenge to grasp at something real
When I was barred from that land
Where the alphanumerics of feeling are found
And where what you felt had currency.

I'm just going to sit back and ponder
How it'd been hard to realize on occasion
That there's times I'm scarcely in range
Of what you're putting out there to feel.

I sought that space where what you felt had meaning,
Where what you felt had currency.
'Cause most of what you said was fleeting
And what you felt was scarcely seen.
